About Us

Established in 1983

Kerry Community Training Centre provides an alternative learning environment for young people who did not find mainstream school suited to their needs. Since then, we have focused on practical, hands-on education that helps learners build real skills, confidence, and direction in their lives.

We operate under the governance of a voluntary Board of Management made up of people from a wide range of community backgrounds.

Their combined experience and local knowledge help guide the centre, ensuring our work reflects the needs of the young people and families we serve.

What is QQI?

  • QQI LEVEL 3 COURSES
  • QQI LEVEL 4 COURSES

Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) is the national body that sets standards for further education and training in Ireland. QQI awards are recognised by employers, colleges, and training centres across the country and help learners progress into work, apprenticeships, or higher-level courses.

QQI LEVEL 3 COURSES

QQI Level 3 courses are entry-level programmes. They help learners build basic skills, get used to education again, and gain confidence. These courses are suitable for those without a Junior Cert and are a strong first step towards work or moving on to a QQI Level 4 programme.

Our Testimonials

A Word from the Manager

Hi there, my name is Terrance Glancy and I am the Manager of Kerry Community Training Centre. I understand first-hand that secondary school is not always easy for everyone. I struggled myself at times in school, so I appreciate how challenging education can feel for some young people and families. At the same time, I also understand the value and power of education, training, and being given the right support at the right time. I have seen the positive difference that a welcoming and supportive environment can make in helping young people build confidence, skills, and direction in their lives. At Kerry CTC, we work hard to create a centre where learners feel respected, supported, and encouraged to achieve their potential. My role is to support both learners and families throughout that journey and to help ensure that everyone who comes through our doors is given a fair opportunity to succeed.
